WHAT IS GREEK YOGHURT?
Greek yogurt is a fermented dairy product like regular yoghurt but the process of making it is very different. Greek yogurt is filtered and contains less water. We filter out the water of 2.5lt milk to get 1kg of yoghurt.
We strain the yoghurt and let gravity do the work the same way it was made in Greece many, many years ago. Our yoghurt is smoother and thicker than traditional yogurt.
HOW TO SPOT REAL GREEK YOGHURT
Do check that the label says Strained yoghurt : Which is the process of making traditional Greek Yoghurt. The straining process filters out the water. So Greek Yoghurt contains less water, which gives it its incredibly creamy thick texture. Commercial yoghurt adds starches and thickeners to bind the water, making it a cheaper product to produce.
